How do I access a Course?

Click on the My Learning Tile from the homepage or top navigation menu tab.

To access a course under any of the headings you can either:

Click on the name of the course (program or certification) which shows under the Learning column.

OR

Click on the name of the course (program or certification)
which shows in the Navigation block on the left hand side
of the screen.

Either choice will take you to the course which you have selected.

Note that if you want to undertake a Course or Program under “General Learning” you will need to manually enroll into it. Some general courses may require a Managers approval before you can begin.

 

You can access and navigate through each section of the course (program/certification) via a tab menu at the top of the screen.

You can then work your way through the course (program/certification) including any of the activities by clicking on the content activity and following the appropriate instructions within each section. You may be asked to tick off some activities manually whilst others may tick off as you complete them.

If you are unable to complete your course (program or certification) at one time and need to return to it at a later stage your progress bar will show how far you are through the course and you will need to return to where you were at and continue to complete the course.

Once you have completed your course (program or certification) your progress bar will change accordingly:




What is Mandatory Learning?

These are courses that have been assigned to you by your organisation as part of your Mandatory training.




WHAT IS RECOMMENDED LEARNING?

These are courses which your line manager or organisation is recommending that you undertake.




WHAT IS GENERAL LEARNING?

These are courses which you have self-enrolled in due to having an interest in them.





HOW DO I ACCESS MY RECORD OF LEARNING?

Select My Learning

Select Record of Learning

This shows your Record of Learning for:

Courses

Competencies

Objectives

Programs

Other Evidence

To access each of these sections use the Tabs at the top of the screen

Courses: this section will show:

The type of course you have completed (indicated by an icon; a computer screen for E-learning, a blender for Blended courses etc.)

The course title (which also includes a hyperlink to take you back to the course if required)

The name of the Learning Plan the course is part of (this may be blank if the course is not part of a plan)’

The Course due date (if applicable)

Your Progress in the course.

Competencies: this section will show:

The name of the Plan the course is part of

The status of your Plan status

The name of the Competency

The Priority

The Due date

The Status of the Competency.
Objectives: this section will show:

The name of the Plan the course is part of

The Plan status

The Objective Name

The Objective Description

The Objective Priority

The Objective Due date

The Objective Status

NOTE: Please note that this section will only be applicable to those organisations that are using the Appraisals section of the LMS.
Programs: this section will show:

The Program Name

An indication of whether the Program is Mandatory or not

If the program is Recurring

The Due Date and Status of the Program

Your Progress within the Program

Other Evidence: this is the section where you are able to upload any other evidence you have of learning. Once you have uploaded items they will show with the data you provided when uploading. The data included as part of your upload includes:

The Name of the evidence

What Evidence Type it is

What Institution the evidence relates to

The Date completed etc

If it is In Use?

Actions which allow you to edit or delete the other evidence.




HOW DO I ADD OTHER EVIDENCE TO MY RECORD?

Click My Learning

Click Record of Learning

Select Other Evidence Tab

Click on the Add Evidence button,

Evidence Name:  This is a required free text field. Make the name of your Evidence something meaningful that will allow you to locate the evidence at a later date if required.

Evidence Description: This is a non-mandatory field which allows you to provide more detail as to the evidence.

Evidence Type: Select the type of evidence from the drop down box.

Evidence Link: if you do not want to upload the evidence you may include the URL link to the evidence in this box.

Evidence Institution: This is a free text field which enables you to record the Institution at which you obtained the evidence.

Evidence date Completed: If you wish to record the date of completion click the Enable box at the end and record the correct date.

File attachment: In order to upload a file click on the blank sheet with a + symbol on the top left hand corner of the box.

Click the Choose File button and locate the file (evidence).

Record a name for the Evidence in the Save As field

Click Upload this file

Click on the Add Evidence button

You will then get a green data box stating that Evidence has been created.




HOW DO I EXPORT MY COURSES, COMPETENCIES, PROGRAMS OR OTHER EVIDENCE INTO A REPORT?

It is possible to export any of your Records of Learning into various formats and the process is the same no matter which of the records you require.

Select My Learning

Select Record of Learning

Go to the tab which contains the Records you wish to export.

Choose your preferred export type from the drop down menu at the bottom of the screen.

Click Export (your file will now been created) and can be viewed and saved.




HOW DO I ACCESS PROGRAMS?

Programs are a course or set of courses that you are required to complete within a specified timeframe and that you may be required to complete on a regular basis (ie every 12 or 24 months). Programs allow your line manager to send messages and reminders to you regarding the program.

From the Menu bar at the top of the screen select My Learning > Programs

This will give you detailed information about any Programs you are enrolled in, including the date the program was assigned to you, the date it is due and your progress.

 




HOW DO I ACCESS MY BOOKINGS?

Select My Learning

Select Bookings

The Bookings tab shows Future and Past bookings that you have made for Face-to-Face courses.

To access Bookings:

Click on the Future Bookings Tab  OR

Click on the Past Bookings Tab




HOW DO I EXPORT MY BOOKINGS?

It is possible to export any of your Future or Past Bookings into various formats and the process is the same for both the bookings.

Select My Learning

Select Bookings

Go to the tab which contains the bookings you wish to export.

Choose your preferred export type from the drop down menu at the bottom of the screen.

Click Export (your file will now been created) and can be viewed and saved.





HOW DO I ACCESS MY LEARNING PLANS?

A Learning plan enables you to see at a glance your progress against specific learning events and the whole plan. It shows you all your courses, programs, competencies, objectives and your upcoming deadlines.

Click My Learning > Learning Plans




HOW DO I CREATE A NEW LEARNING PLAN?

Select My Learning

Select Learning Plans

Click on the Create new learning plan button

 

To create a new plan, please add the plan title, a short description of the plan and a date by which the plan should be completed.

Click "Create plan" once you have entered this information.

You will get a message to say Plan creation successful and if you have chosen a plan that requires management approval you will also get a message to say that your plan has not yet been approved.

Click Send approval request button.

The status will change to (Approval Requested)

You will now have access to a number of tabs regarding your Learning Plan:

Overview: provides a short summary of your Learning Plan

Courses: All the courses that form your learning plan are shown in this section. You can view any course by clicking the course title.




HOW DO I ADD A COURSE TO MY LEARNING PLAN?

Select My Learning
Select Learning Plan
Use the + to expand any/each of the folders listed you find courses you would like to add double click on them (this will move them over to the right hand column under the Items to add)

Click on the Add courses button
Use the + to expand any/each of the folders listed you find courses you would like to add double click on them (this will move them over to the right hand column under the Items to add)

Once you have selected all the courses you would like added to your Learning Plan, click Save.

From this screen you can:

Launch the course (by clicking Launch Course)

Set the priority of the course within your plan (by selecting High, Medium or Low from the Priority drop down menu)

Delete the course from your plan (by clicking the red X under the Actions column)

PROGRAMS: All the programs that form your learning plan are shown in this section. You can view any program by clicking the program title.

To add a Program to your Learning Plan you follow the same steps as you did for adding a Course. (see above)

COMPETENCY: All the competencies that will be addressed by your learning plan are shown in this section. You can view more details about any competency by clicking its title.

To add a Competency to your Learning Plan you follow the same steps as you did for adding a Course (see above).

OBJECTIVES: All the objectives of your learning plan will be shown in this section. You can also add new objectives.




HOW DO I ADD AN OBJECTIVE TO MY LEARNING PLAN?

Select My Learning

Select Learning Plans

Click on the Objective Tab

Click on Add new objective and complete the following fields:

Objective Title

Objective Description

Due Date

Priority

Click Add Objective

The Screen will change to reflect your new objective.




HOW DO I FIND LEARNING?

Find Learning is where you go to Find any learning opportunities that may be available on an ongoing basis or that may be coming up as once off opportunities. 

Find Learning can be accessed two different ways, you can:

Click on the Find Learning tile from the homepage or top navigation menu tab.

You may view these learning opportunities as a List View or a Calendar View. By default the Find Learning Catalogue opens in List View.

Click the View as a calendar button to find learning opportunities via the Calendar.

You can choose to use the Search functions to reduce the number of courses displayed in both the List and Calendar views by entering details under any of the fields:

Name or Description (free text field)

Location (select from drop down menu)

Competency (select from drop down menu)

Course Type (select from drop down menu)

Course start and end dates (use calendar functions)

Click Search

 If you find a course / workshop etc that you would like to complete / attend. Click Go to course.

 




HOW DO I EDIT MY PROFILE?

As a user you have a number of options available to Edit your User Profile.

To access your User Profile:

Click on the downward facing arrow next to your name on the far right hand corner of the screen.

The following options are available from this menu.

My Learning: redirects you to your My Learning Page.

Profile:  This page displays which outlines a number of things about your user profile.

From this screen you can:

Edit your user profile

See limited details about your Manager

Access your Record of Learning

Access your Learning Plans

Access any Courses you are enrolled into

Access Blogs and Forums

Access a Course Completion Report

Access a Browser sessions report

Alter your Preferences

Edit your user profile

Click Edit profile under your User Details information

Note: Those fields greyed out are locked and unable to be edited.

If you need to edit any of the white fields you can do so and once finished click Update profile.

Those fields within your User Profile that are linked to other places within the LMS are indicated by an n on the left of the field. To access any of these links simply click in the listed items.




HOW DO I HIDE OR SHOW A BLOCK?

Once you enter your My Learning menu a Navigation block appears on the left of the screen.

This block allows you to access the same items as your menu tabs across the top of the screen.

Once you enter any of the courses additional blocks appear on the left and right of the screen.

Hide or Show Block/s

You can choose to Hide or Show the right and left hand blocks by clicking on this show/hide icon: (Square Box with a dash in the middle)




HOW DO I DOCK AND UNDOCK A BLOCK?

For more browser real-estate, you can Dock or Undock Block/s to the left hand side of your browser by clicking on the dock/undock icon on each block: (A square with half filled in)





HOW DO I LOG OUT?

Click on the downward facing arrow next to your name on the far right hand corner of the screen.

Select Log Out
